SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Three local Packers fans have been named as finalists for the Fan Hall of Fame. Lorraine Mueller from Wittenberg, Dean Schmitz from Wausau, and Patrick Suplicki from Stevens Point were recognized for their passion and support during Packer game days. WAOW
- ➤ Two Friday night basketball games in Wausau saw New London defeat Wausau East (66-28) with key plays by Maggie Kettleson and Morgan Jones, while Marathon Red Raiders edged Wausau West (60-36) with strong contributions by Rehgan Martin and Jaidyn Oelke. WSAW
- ➤ The U.S. hockey team revealed its Olympic roster that adds three newcomers but leaves out Stevens Point’s Cole Caufield + the Games will take place Feb. 6-22 in Italy with the first match on Feb. 12 against Latvia. WAOW
- ➤ Snowmobile trails in Marathon County have opened this week with additional trails set to open tomorrow near Stratford — a move that has boosted local business at Bill's Service Center. Riders are excited for a lively snowmobiling season after several years of poor conditions. WSAW
