- ➤ D.C. Everest Junior High students turned their candlestick business profits into a $400 donation to The Neighbor’s Place today. The donation came through the Everest Entrepreneur program in collaboration with Junior Achievement + Abby Bank to support community needs. Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ Friends of MCPL are hosting a members-only sale on Feb. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 300 N. First St. in Wausau, offering books, DVDs, art and games; new members may join on the spot (membership costs $10 per person) while proceeds support library programs. Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ The Family Radio Network’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive runs Feb. 22–March 15, collecting hygiene and cleaning supplies for over 130 crisis agencies in central Wisconsin including Wausau. Donations can be dropped off at local stores, banks, workplaces, churches, and schools. Wausau Daily Herald

- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection released its 2025 consumer complaint report, noting that major appliances made the top ten for the first time after a local business closed unexpectedly. The report covers nearly 12,000 complaints including issues with billing disputes, defective products, and refunds. WSAW
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Doctors at Aspirus say GLP-1 medications improve blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol during Heart Health Month and may help reduce heart risks for patients with diabetes, pre-diabetes or obesity. They advise pairing the treatment with healthy eating, exercise and CPR training (to help manage cardiac events). WSAW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Wausau School Board is reviewing the future of East’s varsity hockey team as its co-op with Merrill ends after this season — officials plan to hold a re-vote and may pursue legal action if students lose their hockey opportunity. WSAW
- ➤ The East/Merrill United hockey team defeated Wisconsin Rapids 6–3 on Monday — rallying from an early deficit, their record improved to 8–14 while Wisconsin Rapids dropped to 6–15; EMU will play at Tomahawk and Rapids will face Wausau West on Tuesday. WSAW
