- ➤ The Children’s Imaginarium will host its Fire & Ice adult fundraiser on Feb. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the museum on N. Second St; tickets cost $60 until Feb. 14 and $75 at the door, with tastings, exhibits and raffles planned to support its Access for All program. Wausau Daily Herald

- ➤ Newman Catholic High School announced that longtime volleyball coach Betty Lange will retire after 16 years, during which her teams earned (430 victories) and made 14 state appearances with four gold balls and four silver balls. - ➤ Approximately 230 students from 10 local schools visited Staab Construction for annual Construction Career Day where they participated in practical activities and detailed presentations about trade careers that offer immediate work opportunities - many trades remain in demand despite AI. Organizers say the event helps students explore alternative career paths. WAOW
- ➤ Mid-State Technical College and WCTC today announced a shared AI data specialist program to equip students with skills needed for local manufacturing. The new curriculum is designed to deliver real-world training in artificial intelligence and data analytics. Wausau Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials in Kronenwetter are considering a downtown district to shape a new identity beyond a bedroom community. The board discussed several sites (including a patch near Maple Ridge Road) during a meeting, and future plans will require further committee approval. WSAW

- ➤ Local Wausau East hockey players face uncertainty as their co-op with Merrill (active since 2016) will end after this season, leaving families without a varsity option while school boards deliberate next steps. WAOW
