- ➤ Be Amazing is hosting its ninth annual Dine Out and Shop Around fundraiser, where 73 local businesses will donate a portion of their sales to support community projects & school clubs. The event highlights collaboration among local shops and restaurants to strengthen community service. WSAW
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Merrill dairy farmer Hans Breitenmoser received the Bruce Miller membership award at last week’s National Farmers Union (NFU) Convention in New Orleans. He says better federal support is needed to help small dairy farms overcome low milk prices and rising costs. WAOW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mid-State Technical College and Yavapai College announced a program today—a three-year pathway for business students to earn a bachelor’s degree. Students first finish an associate degree at Mid-State and then complete 32 online credits at Yavapai in one academic year. Wausau Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drivers will face lane and ramp closures at the west US 51/WIS 29 interchange in Wausau as crews perform routine bridge inspections — single-lane closures run from 8 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 17 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 18 with alternate routes available. WSAW
- ➤ Wisconsin Valley Library Service named new trustees and elected board officers for 2026 on March 13. The board includes representatives from Lincoln and Marathon counties, and Tom Bobrofsky, Kathryn Palmer and Michael Otten were appointed as president, vice president and treasurer, with one trustee seat from Oneida County remaining vacant. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marathon, Assumption, Tigerton and Prentice advanced to the boys’ sectional finals after winning their matchups — their games are set for Saturday at D.C. Everest, Altoona, Oconto Falls and Westby as they compete for a trip to state. WSAW
