COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Auburndale High School will host its annual brat fry on Thursday, April 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help cover medical bills for baby Jedd Voight, who spent over 100 days in hospital for surgery to treat a rare pancreas condition.  WSAW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City declared a snow emergency starting at 9 p.m. today and ending at 6 p.m. Monday to clear streets for snowplow operations. Vehicles parked on roads will incur a $100 fine (to maintain safe passage) during this period.  WAOW

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Wisconsin Poison Center reported that pain medications were the leading cause of accidental poisonings last year with over 38,000 cases statewide, and young children (33% of calls) were most at risk. Experts advised caregivers to lock up medications to prevent accidental exposure.  Wausau Daily Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Paralympic curler Matt Thums is returning to Wisconsin Sunday after representing Team USA at the Milan Cortina Paralympics; he started his journey at the local curling club where he first learned the sport in Wausau.  WSAW
