- ➤ Demolition will begin this week at the former Fazoli's on Rib Mountain Drive — the site has been vacant since its September closure — to clear the way for a new Raising Cane's restaurant approved by the planning commission. WSAW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Seven Central Wisconsin school districts will ask voters for about $62 million in nonrecurring funds on April 7 to support operations over two to five years (Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools will seek the highest amount at $19 million). Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ Universities of Wisconsin launched the free online AI Skills Access Passport (ASAP) to teach Wisconsinites the basics of generative AI, and the seven two-minute episodes are now available on their website for all ages. WAOW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wausau Mayor Doug Diny honored the Public Works Department on Tuesday with a Recognition of Exemplary Service for their long hours during the record-breaking snowfall of nearly 31 inches. The award acknowledged the efforts of plow operators, mechanics + support staff who maintained emergency access in harsh conditions. WAOW

- ➤ Wausau doctor Veronika Gagovic uses TikTok & Instagram to teach local youth about early colon cancer screening and tests as early as 42. She founded The Colon Health Project to help with treatment costs and will compete for a national pageant title in June. WSAW
