GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Marathon County officials announced a $20.6 million project that will shift lanes, close ramps, and reroute traffic on State 29 and State 97 beginning April 6 and lasting eight months—covering Frankfort, Johnson, Rietbrock, Wien, Rib Falls, and Cassel.  Wausau Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Tom Farley, brother of late actor Chris Farley and director at Recovery.com, will lead a conversation on addiction and mental health in Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, May 5, offering two sessions (noon at Mid-State’s campus and 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center); advance registration is required for free entry.  Wausau Daily Herald
  • North Central Health Care’s IPS program earned an exemplary fidelity rating and ranks among the top three statewide with a 59% employment rate, helping people with mental illness and substance use disorders secure jobs (serving Marathon, Lincoln and Langlade counties); Kevin Traeder was honored with the Be an Expert Award.  Wausau Daily Herald
