- ➤ Bridge Street Mission at 325 N. First Ave. — set to open its new overnight shelter on Apr. 20 — will provide 40 cots for men and 20 for women. Wausau Daily Herald
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire at Crystal Finishing Systems Inc. at 880 South View Drive was contained Saturday evening with fire crews clearing the site by 8:30 p.m.; operations returned to normal by Sunday morning except one production line remaining offline for repairs, according to CEO Mark Matthiae. WAOW
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Great Wisconsin Birdathon begins April 15 and runs until June 15, inviting bird watchers from schools, libraries and clubs to fundraise for bird conservation statewide while aiming to raise $130,000. WSAW

- ➤ Gov. Tony Evers has declared Severe Weather Awareness Week as statewide tornado drills are set for April 16 at 1:45 p.m. + 6:45 p.m. Residents, schools and businesses are urged to practice finding shelter in case severe weather delays the drills. Wausau Daily Herald
