- ➤ Heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday caused basement flooding in Wausau when sump pumps failed, and NorthStar Restoration crews have been using extraction equipment (including air movers and dehumidifiers) to dry and repair homes over the next several days. WSAW
- ➤ Mark Matthaie, owner of Crystal Pines, will host a K9 fundraiser on April 28 from 5 to 9 p.m. at his venue in Mosinee to support veterans + Miss Wisconsin’s Teen 2025, Natalie Popp, will volunteer at the event. WAOW
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Gray Media said DISH Network pulled its channels, including WSAW+WZAW, from service more than a month ago after extending access during severe weather and major sports events; the CEO said DISH now rejects proposals and sets harsher demands, so viewers must use other providers. WSAW
- ➤ The Chamber will host its annual Business EXPO on Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center in Rothschild, with awards and a mascot parade scheduled; a networking event called Fun@EXPO follows at bantr until 8 p.m. WSAW

- ➤ Heavy rain Monday raised water levels along the Wisconsin River, with flows peaking Tuesday in Marathon County — crews will continue monitoring and expect peaks later in Portage and Wood counties, advising residents to avoid the river until levels normalize. WSAW
