COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Aviore, the aviation-themed superhero created by Stan Lee, will land on Saturday, May 17 at the Wausau Downtown Airport for a special Armed Forces Day Celebration hosted by EAA Chapter 640 at the Learn Build Fly Education Center. • After reviewing a new proposal that required more space and funding than its current facility allows, Catholic Charities decided to end two years of year-round service and will return to its longstanding six-month model at the Good Shepherd Shelter on May 1 — a change that better aligns with its mission to offer emergency, night-by-night shelter for those in greatest need.  Wausau Times

  • The Woods and Waters conference on conservation will take place on April 25th at the North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters—residents can ask questions and learn from scientists, lake association leaders, landowners, and resource professionals as organizers hope to match last year's attendance of over 100 people.  WAOW
