- ➤ Central Wisconsin humane societies are preparing for kitten season by restocking supplies like specially formulated kitten food—after taking in 115 young cats last year—to manage the expected influx from May through September. - ➤ At the Wausau Chamber’s annual Business Expo on Thursday, In The Lite was named the 2025 Small Business of the Year and Habitat for Humanity was named the 2025 Non-Profit of the Year. - ➤ Tribal police on the Lac du Flambeau Reservation have searched 824 acres using drones and search dogs for Melissa Beson, 37, who was last seen on March 17 near Indian Village Road and Chequamegon Forest Trail in Vilas County after her family reported her missing on March 23 amid concerns over missing Indigenous people. - ➤ River and Woods Theatre Company is performing 9 to 5 today in Wausau, a Broadway musical based on the famous 1980s movie starring Dolly Parton.
