- ➤ The Rotary Club of Wausau donated $5,000 today to the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin’s Emergency Relief Fund to support recovery in Ringle after an EF3 tornado on April 17. Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ A recent software update on newer Vizio and Onn Powered by Vizio TVs caused local antenna channels to drop — the NewsChannel 7 engineering team fixed the issue. Viewers who lost access over the past week must rescan channels using Menu > All Settings > Antenna Channels > Find Channels to restore reception. WSAW
- ➤ Local volunteers and businesses helped tornado-damaged residents in Ringle after Friday's storm; Harter's Fox Valley Disposal donated dumpsters & secured additional hauls with help from Mount Olive Lutheran Church. WAOW

- ➤ Legal Action of Wisconsin warns residents to research contractors and secure written agreements before starting home repairs following severe storms, as unreliable companies have a record of scamming homeowners; affected individuals can seek protection under state consumer laws. WSAW
- ➤ Wisconsin officials are tallying damage from last week’s storms — reporting widespread wind and flooding impacts — as Gov. Tony Evers urges congressional talks to secure FEMA help within 30 days. Marathon County, home to Wausau, and Outagamie County are still assessing damage. WSAW
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Marathon County residents can safely dispose of unused medications at police drop-off sites on Saturday, April 25. The locations include Wausau (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), Mosinee (8 a.m. to noon), Kronenwetter, and Mountain Bay in Rothschild (both open 24/7). Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ DHS announced it will invest $31 million from opioid settlement funds to expand prevention, treatment and recovery services statewide (including $9 million for Tribal nations and funds for law enforcement grants).
