  • Dani Spencer, a tattoo artist from Schofield, is partnering with The Women’s Community for a Sexual Assault Awareness Month benefit; over 20 clients will choose from nine tattoo designs at Dani Girl Tattoos today at 10 a.m.—all proceeds will support survivors and their supporters—to mark an empowering local event.  WSAW
  • Seven statewide events unfolded this weekend as Friday’s NFL draft rounds kicked off in Green Bay and 'The Greatest Piano Men' show entertained in Reedsburg, while today La Crosse hosts its beer, wine and cheese fest, Wausau holds the Ghidorzi Green and Clean cleanup from 9 to 11, Weston YMCA offers Healthy Kids Day from 10 to 2, the EAA Aviation Museum runs a hiring event from 9 to 1, and Marshfield stages the Andy Beningo Comedy Show at 7.  WSAW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lawmakers discussed Bradyn's Law — a bill that would impose felony murder charges on sextortion perpetrators if their actions led to the suicide of 15-year-old Bradyn Bohn, who died on March 5 after being targeted online. The proposal still needs to pass both legislative bodies — it will then move to Gov. Tony Evers for review.  Wausau Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Aspirus Health is urging locals today to use secure drop boxes at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Aspirus Medford Hospital for safe disposal of unused or expired medications—this National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, led by the DEA, helps stop drug misuse and protect our water and wildlife—by following proper guidelines.  WAOW

  • D.C. Everest announced a new head varsity boys basketball coach, Jake Schalow, who will lead the team starting next season. Schalow, a former Fox Valley Association Player of the Year who later coached at Merrill High School (67-30 record and two regional championships), began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  WAOW
