Good morning, Wausau.

At a meeting at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plover, advocates and center leaders discussed the county board’s plan to sell the Portage County Health Care Center—a move supporters say will lower care quality for vulnerable residents.

They noted that the approved tax increase may not cover rising building costs as this marks the fourth attempt to sell the facility since 2017.

Stratford native Easton Kilty will sign with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent and join the tackle group after former Stevens Point native Ryan Ramczyk retired.

Kilty, a four-year starter at Kansas State who played left tackle for his last two seasons, will start his NFL career under head coach Kellen Moore—winner of Super Bowl 59 with the Philadelphia Eagles.

At the NFL Draft, current Badgers Jack Nelson and Hunter Wohler were selected in the seventh round by the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts (picks 218 and 232) while former Badgers Chimere Dike and Graham Mertz were chosen by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round and by the Houston Texans in the sixth round.
