- ➤ A motorcyclist suffered non-serious injuries after hitting a curb and being sent over the guardrail along the S. 17th Avenue bridge in Rib Mountain—landing in Lake Wausau—on Thursday. WSAW
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Portage County man, Justin Wojtalewicz, pleaded not guilty to felony charges for attempted homicide, aggravated battery, and mayhem after allegedly shooting Ryan Wojtalewicz in the leg during an argument that left him hospitalized—he also faces charges for recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm with further court actions scheduled for June 26th, August 1st and a jury trial set from August 11th through 15th. - ➤ This morning the Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety passed Bradyn’s Law—named after 15‑year‑old Bradyn Bohn and designed to address sextortion with penalties that include up to a 60‑year sentence if a victim dies. Representative Brent Jacobson of Mosinee said he expected strong bipartisan support as the bill moves forward. WAOW

- ➤ A new study finds 32% of dementia cases are linked to hearing loss, and the brain may weaken when it is not stimulated with sound. Karen Beyer from The Hearing House in Wausau compared hearing loss to a broken arm and advised people over 55 to get their hearing checked early+ early treatment may help slow dementia. WAOW
