- ➤ GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau has delivered free educational, therapeutic and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome since December 2020 — the volunteer-run center supports local families by promoting lifelong independence and serving participants from central to northern Wisconsin. - ➤ Wausau River District was designated as a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program today, reflecting its strong role in downtown revitalization and local economic growth. - ➤ Today, 20 Medical College of Wisconsin students in Wausau celebrated receiving their Doctorate of Medicine at Sentry World (including five local graduates) and have been matched with residencies nationwide, marking the start of their medical careers. WAOW
- ➤ Newman Catholic Schools and parish councils have committed to keeping both St. Mark Elementary and St. Therese Early Childhood Center open as they work on long-term repairs and improvements identified in recent building studies. WSAW
