GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau has delivered free educational, therapeutic and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome since December 2020 — the volunteer-run center supports local families by promoting lifelong independence and serving participants from central to northern Wisconsin.

Wausau River District was designated as a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program today, reflecting its strong role in downtown revitalization and local economic growth.

The program earned this honor (marking 24 years of meeting national community standards) to boost local improvements.
