- ➤ Concerts on the Square returns next week with free music every Wednesday from 6—8 p.m. and about 2,500 local attendees are expected, with sponsors including Wausau Events and Newschannel 7; a special Concert Off the Square is set for August 20 at Kennedy Park with more details coming soon. WSAW

- ➤ Mumble Wrap is opening today at Malarkey’s Pub and Grill, replacing Townie’s Grill by offering fast-casual wraps and bowls with a menu of about 12 items averaging $14 each. Owner Jesse Bartnik said the restaurant will let customers order at a kiosk or counter and will remain closed on Mondays and Tuesdays until additional staff are hired — aiming to serve both dine-in and takeout orders during Concerts on the Square. - ➤ A 19-year-old man from Wausau was arrested on Saturday at Otter Lake Campground near Gleason after an argument got out of hand and he reportedly used a gun, with witnesses taking it and police booking him on charges including a second OWI, disorderly conduct while armed, pointing a firearm at a person, using a gun while drunk and resisting an officer. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews in Kronenwetter begin work today near Kronenwetter Drive by pulverizing roads on Pinedale Ln and Windwood Rd, with asphalt scheduled to start on July 8th. Other streets—including Oakdale Ln, Wedgewood Dr, and Sedona Ct starting May 29th—and segments of Kronenwetter Dr beginning on June 2nd or later will be paved through early fall as the project finishes on September 12th. - ➤ Wausau School Board President Jim Bouché was appointed to the WIAA Board of Control on May 16 — the group that governs high school sports in the state. He said his work as a teacher, coach, and principal will help improve student athletic programs. WSAW

- ➤ Aspirus Health offered summer tips for treating bug bites and stings, saying many cause only mild discomfort but some may lead to serious allergic reactions. The advice recommends over-the-counter treatments and urges people to call 911 immediately if they see signs of anaphylaxis (swelling of face, hives, or trouble breathing) while enjoying outdoor activities. - ➤ With summer break near, some parents let kids stay up later while sleep specialist Brian Chen from the Cleveland Clinic warns that a more than one hour shift in bedtime may make it harder for kids to readjust when school resumes—this change can affect mood, behavior and performance. WSAW
- ➤ Motorcyclists are riding through 22 states in 22 days to raise awareness for veteran suicide and stopped today at Bull Falls Harley-Davidson in Rothschild to offer a picnic and resources to local veterans in crisis. The tour started in Ohio and will finish in South Carolina as organizers Angela and Jason White work to ensure veterans in need have proper support — a journey intended to spark community action on mental health.
