- ➤ Women United of United Way of Marathon County is hosting its 16th Annual Power of the Purse on June 17 in Wausau. - ➤ The remains of Army Corporal Jack Ginzl returned home from Milwaukee on Friday, May 22, and his family and community honored him with a burial ceremony and gun salute on Sunday, May 24 in Rhinelander. A DNA test confirmed his identity after 86 long years. WAOW

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The state Department of Health reported five mpox cases for 2026, including a cluster in southeastern Wisconsin and extra cases in the north (as of May 26). Health officials advise those at higher risk to talk with a provider about vaccination and watch for symptoms like rashes or fever. WSAW
- ➤ Marshfield Clinic donated $90K today to United Way of Wisconsin to support health programs in central and northern areas, according to a recent announcement. The contribution will aid efforts to address substance use, behavioral health, and food security. Wausau Daily Herald
