  • WSAW’s translator in Sayner was repaired and restored to full power after operating at reduced strength for two months. Viewers may need to rescan their channels (delivering channels 7.1 through 7.6) to receive the full signal.  WSAW
  • Kronenwetter has launched a community fundraiser to renovate Buska Park with plans to add new playground equipment + ADA accessible features + updated community spaces in the park's northern section as the project seeks to raise $200,000 from local donors.  WSAW

CULTURE NEWS

  • D.C. Everest junior Trevor Prentice earned an honorable mention for his sports reaction photo in the 2026 Walsworth Photography Contest today + he is the only Wisconsin winner among over 10,000 entries.  Wausau Daily Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Graduating seniors walked the halls of old schools Friday morning as cheers marked an end-of-year tradition; East holds graduation today at 11 a.m. in the East High Gymnasium and West at 3 p.m. in the fieldhouse (both on Saturday).  WSAW

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Red Cross warns that a recent drop in blood donations has cut supplies by thousands just as trauma season nears; donors can receive a beach towel if they donate by May 31 + $15 e-gift cards with a chance at $7,500 when donating between June 1 and 28.  WAOW

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today at Athletic Park, the Wausau Woodchucks host the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for a game with first pitch at 5:05 p.m. and fireworks to follow.  WSAW
  • The Wausau Wheelers Bike Club will launch a new Women's Ride Group on the first and third Thursday of each month starting Thursday, June 4 at Friendship Park in Kronenwetter, where riders will meet at 5:30 p.m. before riding at 6 p.m.  WAOW
