- ➤ Lifeguards trained Monday at Weston and Rothschild aquatic centers as summer nears—Weston center opens Saturday and will host private school events earlier in the week. WSAW
- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Wausau received a $100,000 grant from Impact100 Greater Wausau to expand its critical home repair program across Marathon County. The funds will buy a mobile repair unit and new equipment to serve one family a week while volunteers assist over 112 waiting families. WSAW
- ➤ Wausau was named among the Top 100 American Communities for Retirees by Investopedia this morning—after the ranking evaluated affordable living, quality health care and cultural opportunities—and Mayor Doug Diny expressed delight with the recognition as four other Wisconsin cities were also honored. - ➤ The City of Wausau launched its Show Us Your Wausau photo contest as the online portal opened June 1, inviting residents to submit original photos of local scenes until Aug. 31. Winners will receive a $25 gift card and be announced in September. WSAW

- ➤ Monday morning, WPS banded four falcon chicks hatched in the power plant nest box and attached tiny transmitters + giving researchers real time data as they track the birds' movements during their first year. WSAW
