- ➤ Teens looking for summer jobs should know that 14 and 15-year-olds must obtain a $10 work permit through an online portal—this permit lets the Department of Workforce Development track safety—while older teens 16 and 17 can work without a permit but must follow state rules for certain jobs. - ➤ Marathon County Parks Department is preparing summer pools and splash pads after Memorial and Schulenburg pools opened June 6 (with completed water quality tests). Kaiser Pool will open June 16 (allowing extra lifeguard training) as the department finalizes permits and staff safety checks. WSAW
