CULTURE NEWS

  • A new show Revival debuts on SYFY today at 9 p.m. and features Wausau landmarks—shot as exterior scenes in Canada—in a murder mystery plot where a victim helps solve the case, with episodes streaming on Peacock a week later.  WAOW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Mosinee Branch of Marathon County Public Library hosted its second obstacle course at River Park to get kids outside and active. Library staff said the free event was well received and will become an annual gathering (coordinator Sarah Moscatello explained its goal is to bring families together).  WAOW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office exhumed the remains of an unidentified World War I veteran from Pine Grove Cemetery on June 6—he was buried with military honors after dying in 1930. Forensic specialists will compare his DNA to national databases to match him with a living relative.  WAOW

HEALTH NEWS

  • Aspirus is urging men to have regular checkups this month to catch health issues early plus to get support with physical and mental health. Dr. Alexander Trecartin at Aspirus Weston Clinic said men who feel healthy may delay needed screenings.  WSAW
