- ➤ The Taste N’ Glow Balloon Festival kicks off today at 11 a.m. on Trailmates Snowmobile Club land with live music, flea market booths, balloon rides, carnival games and a hot air balloon craft while officials monitor weather and parking conditions. Organizers hope to attract 10,000 people over the two-day event + shuttles run every 30 minutes from Stor-In-Dor-Wausau to help visitors get to the festival safely. WSAW
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested a woman on July 6 after a report said she fired a gun at a car on Seventh Street in Abbotsford following a dispute at a tavern & nearby home, and she is set to appear in court today with no one injured. Wausau Daily Herald
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Wausau’s American Legion Post 10 reopened around Memorial Day and now hosts an expanded military museum featuring uniforms, photos, and a new mannequin display—items donated by local veterans that span from 1919 to today. Visitors can view the collection at 1001 Golf Club Road during the restaurant’s hours. WSAW
- ➤ Northcentral Technical College’s video production program will debut its pilot film festival—showing eight global films focused on rural village life—from July 18 to August 9 at Woodson History Center. Faculty member Jila Nikpay said the event aims to spark conversation and inspire local filmmakers. WSAW
