Good morning, Wausau.

The Taste N’ Glow Balloon Festival kicks off today at 11 a.m. on Trailmates Snowmobile Club land with live music, flea market booths, balloon rides, carnival games and a hot air balloon craft while officials monitor weather and parking conditions.

Organizers hope to attract 10,000 people over the two-day event + shuttles run every 30 minutes from Stor-In-Dor-Wausau to help visitors get to the festival safely.

Police arrested a woman on July 6 after a report said she fired a gun at a car on Seventh Street in Abbotsford following a dispute at a tavern & nearby home, and she is set to appear in court today with no one injured.

Wausau’s American Legion Post 10 reopened around Memorial Day and now hosts an expanded military museum featuring uniforms, photos, and a new mannequin display—items donated by local veterans that span from 1919 to today.

Visitors can view the collection at 1001 Golf Club Road during the restaurant’s hours.

Northcentral Technical College’s video production program will debut its pilot film festival—showing eight global films focused on rural village life—from July 18 to August 9 at Woodson History Center.

Faculty member Jila Nikpay said the event aims to spark conversation and inspire local filmmakers.
