The Pine Lake Fire Department sold more than 8,000 20-pound ice bags at $5 each—its nearly 15-year ice sale funds equipment upgrades—at Hodag Country Festival from Tuesday through Sunday, showing strong community support.

The City of Wausau will close North 7th Street between Jackson Street and Washington Street starting Monday for gas main replacement by Wisconsin Public Service.

A detour will be posted and the closure will last one week (check local updates for details).

The Woodchucks rallied from a 5 to 0 deficit to edge the Dock Spiders 9 to 8 at Athletic Park Saturday, while four Ignite players represented the East Division at the NWL Softball All-Star Game in Madison.

Drop-in to the Woodson Art Museum's sculpture garden on Thursday, July 30 from 5 to 6 pm to experiment with Coloratura technology, meet with inventor and artist Camry Ivory, and paint with sound! Watch and listen as your brushstrokes create art and music right before your eyes and ears. No registration is required and all ages are welcome to join in. In case of inclement weather, this program will be held at the Glass Box Studio.
