Mayo announced the appointment of Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney as special prosecutor in the investigation of a drop box removal in Wausau on September 22—Mayor Doug Diny was photographed moving the box inside against the city clerk’s orders. Toney will review the case conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and decide if further actions are needed.

Photos show Colorado rabbits with unusual tentacle-like and antler growths caused by Shope papilloma virus that does not spread to people — similar cases have been seen in River Falls.

Experts note that the rabbits eventually fight off the virus, which may cause the growths to fade over time.
