- ➤ Six community organizations will host the Backpack Bash Block Party on Tuesday, September 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Thrive Church parking lot (400 Grand Ave) to offer free backpacks, school supplies, and family activities so local students and families can prepare for the new school year. - ➤ Today, Marathon hosts the nearly 70-year Marathon Fun Days festival with live music, carnival rides and a parade during Labor Day weekend. The carnival opens at 6 p.m. and Knock Point will perform at 8 p.m.—wristbands will be sold for rides while admission remains free. WSAW
