Swiderski—also known as SCS—announced its 5th annual CAS Food Drive in collaboration with 12 food pantries, collecting 3,317 food and monetary donations that were matched 1:1 to yield 6,634 contributions. - ➤ The Wausau Common Council is seeking letters of interest to fill District 5 after longtime council member Gary Gisselman died in August — candidates must submit letters by Oct.7 so a replacement will be appointed on Oct.14 to serve until the term ends in April. The Marathon County Board is also accepting letters with submissions due by Sept.12 and a vote planned on Sept.18 — offering a second process to fill the seat following his long service.
