- ➤ The city of Wausau purchased the old MBX Packaging Specialists site at 201 N. First St. for $900,000, aided by a $250,000 grant to cover cleanup and create a connection in the River Edge trail. City leaders will work with residents and developers to decide if the site will become mixed-use or housing that may boost tax revenue — the deal advances plans to revitalize the riverfront.
