- ➤ The Wausau River District and Marathon County Parks and Recreation are hosting a downtown trick-or-treat event today from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. At least a dozen local businesses such as The Mint Cafe and The Pinery Coffee Company will join the fun — residents are invited to enjoy early Halloween festivities. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wausau East High School celebrated $9 million in new improvements from a referendum passed in April 2022—upgrading security, athletic fields, and lights to benefit students and visitors. WSAW
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The Foundry on 3rd in downtown Wausau now offers 153 apartments and commercial space on the old mall site. Developers say the new building will boost downtown life and that phase two—adding a pool and hot tub—is planned within the next two years. WSAW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marshfield fans are cheering for hometown player Daulton Varsho as he takes the field with the Blue Jays in the upcoming World Series this weekend – his journey from local baseball leagues to the major leagues has captured the community's pride. WAOW
- ➤ SPASH swept Wisconsin Rapids 3-0 in the regional semifinal on Thursday in Stevens Point and will host Marshfield on Saturday. In D3 play, Stanley-Boyd swept Marathon 3-0 to advance and will play Stratford on Saturday. WSAW
