In Wausau, Bull Falls Brewing Co. opens its tap room today—offering live music and a food truck from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. WSAW
- ➤ Wausau Events hosted the first-ever Boos and Booze event Friday at the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center — an adults-only Halloween celebration featuring costume contests, drinks from over 12 breweries, and dancing with a spooky DJ — with tickets sold from $20 to $40. WSAW
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ United Airlines will return to Central Wisconsin Airport by offering three daily nonstop flights to Chicago starting May 21, 2026 + the airport director said the service will give travelers more flight options. WSAW
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On October 24th, 1954, WSAU TV Channel 7 broadcast its first program from the Plumer Mansion (The Castle), marking central Wisconsin’s only TV station at the time. The station later moved to Grand Avenue in 1971 and now airs 10 digital channels. WSAW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ School districts in Marathon County are rebuilding mental health support in schools—adding on-site counselors and peer support groups to help students after the pandemic. Leaders in Wausau and D.C. Everest report that the new services are improving attendance and academic performance and plan to add more navigator positions soon. WAOW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Sunrise 7 team learned basic curling skills at the Wausau Curling Club with guidance from Tucker Diedrich and other club members—an effort sparked by their aspirations for the 2026 Winter Games. The club offers skip schools and will launch a 4-week mini league next week to help more residents try the sport. WSAW
