COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Wausau Police Department is collecting new pajamas — sizes 5-T to 18 or 20 — for children to help keep them warm this winter, and donations will be accepted at the department's lobby drop box or via Venmo at PAJAMADRIVE through the end of November.  WSAW
  • Wausau American Legion Post 10 will expand its existing Patriot Avenue of Honor program—currently displaying banners for veterans on Grand Avenue—to add banners on Schofield Avenue in Weston that honor police, firefighters, EMS workers and other public safety professionals from Memorial Day to Veterans Day 2026.  WSAW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wausau students met with DPI leaders to share their ideas on how schools can better support them through high school and prepare them for college. DPI leaders said the conversation helped students feel heard and informed plans to keep programs like WEOP running—efforts aimed at easing challenges from federal budget cuts.  WAOW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • TSA agent absences led to long lines and flight delays at major airports between Oct 31 and Nov 2—Central Wisconsin Airport stayed on schedule as its staff worked well; Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned that travelers in larger cities may face more delays and should check their flight statuses.  WAOW

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Foundry on 3rd has opened in downtown Wausau on the site of the former Wausau Center mall, with (154) market-rate studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units and (17,000) square feet of commercial space.  Wausau Daily Herald
