COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Rotary Club of Wausau raised over $36K to fund 360 $100 grocery gift cards for local families in need and will deliver them this week (with matched donations from the United Way Hunger Coalition and Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin) to support holiday food security. Wausau Daily Herald
- ➤ Shauna Robinson has volunteered at The Neighbor’s Place for three years, helping a pantry that now serves 100-140 people a day (she began after her family received aid when they moved from Madison) and plans to keep giving back to brighten lives locally. WSAW
- ➤ Powers Bluff County Park will open Saturday, Dec. 20 for tubing, skiing and snowboarding following recent improvements that added a shed and updated infrastructure built with federal funds. The park will run its slopes on weekends until March to offer snowshoeing and hiking across its 383 acres. WSAW
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Grand Theater ranked 111th in Pollstar’s Top 200 worldwide after selling 73,679 tickets and earning over $3.7 million this year, marking its ninth consecutive year on the list. The venue will launch a $17 million Second Century Capital Campaign to restore the 98-year-old theater. Wausau Daily Herald
